Telemed Score - A New Way to Keep Score!

Telemed adopts a modern approach toward the analysis of patient information, determining population segments more likely to be impacted by health improvement programs, and thus taking analysis to the next level. This database of information allows clinicians, coaches and care coordinators to utilize resources more effectively, while addressing the factors underlying increasing health costs, productivity, and the bottom line. Unlike traditional risk scores, which use ‘black box’ statistical models to measure risk from retrospective claims and demographics, the Score technology allows for a holistic focus on patient health.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

Blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and blood sugar all tell important stories. These variables, among others, are key health indicators. Instead of a range of values that contain no obvious relation to each other, our technology allows for a composite view of all health status indicators. We process these numbers and values into a single number that provides a comprehensive indicator of an individual’s outcomes are measured in three distinct phases: participation, health status and financial. Telemed also quantifies program impacts in near real time.

NOCON is a managed healthcare company and a health enabler specializing in data analytics, EHR and Telemedicine rather than a data warehousing company. Our team of analysts and consultants possesses data and healthcare expertise, providing insight into analysing organizations’ population health management, and enabling us to spot opportunities and provide timely and relevant recommendations. The analytic team also serves as an extension of our client’s management teams, taking collaboration to the next level. The team meets periodically to review deliverables and discuss implications, which may lead to specific program enhancements.

Data Security & Compliance

All of the Organisation’s technology solutions, business processes, engineering development, and delivery protocols are built with integrated security and compliance at their core. Furthermore, Telemed’s infrastructure components are deployed within the HIPAA compliant Microsoft Azure or Amazon infrastructure.

Telemed is designed with forward-looking development methodologies, focused on strategic migration interoperability, allowing for the deployment of our infrastructure to other cloud providers like IBM Bluemix, moving to Cloud databases like MongoDB, IBM cloudant. This cloud agnostic development approach allows for multi-cloud deployment and a more flexible disaster recovery strategy that is immune to a single cloud failure. All data is encrypted for both internal and external network communications. The system is designed with no single point of failure, and all systems are clustered for high availability and scalability.

We are HIPAA Compliant

As a clearinghouse under HIPAA, NOCON has performed self-assessments to ensure HIPAA compliance. We maintain active business associate agreements (BAAs) with all partners for performing HIPAA compliant clearinghouse functions. These BAAs are encoded into the data processing systems in order to ensure technical compliance with all BAA agreements. Continual review of updated standards and regulations and how production processes and infrastructure are affected ensures a working backlog of tasks to maintain compliance.

We communicate via SSL

The Telemed’s transactions are commenced on SSL API calls thus ensures the patient data confidentiality is not compromised and protected from potential vulnerability threats.

Access to Telemed’s APIs and CRM are controlled through OAuth2, and all activities (e.g. access, requests, responses, etc.) are logged within our platform for transactional-level auditing purposes.

Infrastructure Reliability

The Organisation’s infrastructure is developed with reliability as a core tenet, and the infrastructure is built to scale and can be re-provisioned on demand. System components can be isolated and re-deployed as needed, thereby reducing the attack surface and enabling quick response to system failures. Systems are deployed on dedicated systems, with all data at rest and in motion encrypted. Where needed, virtual private networks are created for partners covered under BAA.

Development Process

The Organisation’s development process includes extensive automated testing in order to ensure system reliability. Any code changes are peer-reviewed for security and functionality. The process is driven by Agile development methodology and uses Scrum to oversee the progress. Load and functional testing is performed in three environments (Dev, Staging, and Production) prior to manual approval for deployment in production. A manual test and review environment undergo constant testing for additional human intervention, which also includes penetration testing on our own systems.
